Slow PC after upgrading RAM

Hi guys(and gals)
I have just upgraded my RAM on my Packard bell iextreme m5800 from 3GB to 7GB, but since my computer seems to be running slower. I have run a memtest and it says that there are no errors, the memory I bought was bought from Mr memory and was the memory recomended. I have tried to see if there are any downloads from Packard Bell but when I try to select my desktop it comes up with a list of model numbers different to mine?? Any one got ideas???

I find it strange that you have an odd number of RAM GBs, normally the upgrade would be to go to 8GB. Normally you would be able to have 4 2GB sticks and put them in Dual Channel. Please post the chips you bought and what configuration they are in.
