[Unlocked AHCI, sp53872] HP Pavilion g6-1101ei Please help
#1
Question
Hi Guys,

I got an HP Pavilion g6-1101ei with InsydeH20 BIOS(F.33), hoping to make it a hackintosh, one thing in my way though...you guessed it no AHCI mode on account of this BIOS. If you could please assist with unlocking it so I can choose AHCI mode that would be greatly appreciated.

Please forgive my ignorance, where do I find that out? I checked again and my current bios is the insyde h20 f.24 , located here http://goo.gl/K9Piq .

Open .exe with winrar and extract content, rename all .fd files to .fdf, go renaming one by one to .fd and launching manually insydeflash.exe when it runs without error and updates your bios that last fd file you renamed is "the one"

Thanks for the knowledge. Did as instructed but there are no .fd files in the .exe. Here is a list of files found

AtpTimerInfo.dll
FlsHook.dll
iscflash.dll
iscflash.sys
iscflashx64.sys
xercesc_2_7.dll
platform.ini
01666F24.bin
0166CF24.bin
0338AF24.bin
Flshook.exe
FWUpdLcl.exe
InsydeFlash.exe
Ding.wav

What now?
** Not sure if this helps but I did some tinkering and figured out that the bios rom file for my system is the file 01666F24.bin http://goo.gl/UHQid .

If you figured out correctly your bios file it's done Wink Under system configuration you will find IDE Enable/Disable and HDC Configure as IDE/AHCI settings.
