You better look for Fan Trip points and adjust there.

Thanks for the response.

There is no such option in the BIOS. Angry

HP Coolsense "coolest" mode can increase fan speed at a lower temperature, but it throttles the CPU at a lower temperature too, so that's no good.

I just want to be able to crank up the fan speed at a lower temperature is all. Apps like speedfan don't detect the fan either.
I see, the form for the fan trip points and the cpu throttle point is there, but it's not referenced anywhere that's why you can't see it.

There's no space to add the reference, so i will try a magician trick to perhaps make it visible for you. Do you want to take the risk?
any advice for the issue im having?

The system recovery media does not support this computer
You are not able to restore this system with this media

I would give it a shot =-) the amd PB section has no use, that can happily be dropped in favor of the fan trip menu =-)
Flashed this BIOS Mod, works without any problems up to now. Working through the huge amount of options Smile
First thing that worked fine is to enable permanent discrete graphics, also for OpenGL.
The bios defaults are.

Fan always on - Yes.
Fan ON Temp - 70º
Throttle ON Temp - 85º

Let me try the magic trick. Wink
Thank you so much! It seems to work, well I think so. For the fan, it does start to throttle up earlier, but still doesn't go full speed until it reaches 90C. But definitely an improvement. Thank you!

Wonder if I got rid of coolsense if it would work any differently?
I think if you disable the "Cool 'n' quiet" feature fan will run at full speed.
