Hello, as i have read that in order to use the dedicated GPU on the acer notebooks you have to have your BIOS unlocked. My laptop suffered from water damage and now in GPU-z doesnt recognise my video card, the laptop is working, dedicated gpu isnt used at all so i guess the integrated gpu is still working, though poorly.
Could you please Unlock this BIOS

please help! I found a thread in the forum, but its for insyde 1.16, please can you help me? im sure the difference between 1.16 and 1.15 is small please
Hi you all,

First of all I want to thank you for great development on this wide-spread platform.

I've been using this moddified BIOS for a long time, on mine Packard-Bell TS11, with almost full satisfaction. The only flaw, and I think that is due to ACER, is the fan control that doesn't work.

So, after starting to get some heat problems (I've upgraded my i5-2410m to i7-2630qm), and after cleaning up e changing thermal paste, i found that my GPU (540m) hit 95ºC easily and then throttling down to cool off.

Said that, after some research i find myself changing akbar BIOS, with a VBIOS for NVIDIA 540m with lowered voltage:
Idle: 0,83v
Full: 0,85v

For me that worked, it is stable under full load, but probably won't work for everyone. My temps are now hiting 90ºC after 1h of full load, with Turbo enabled on the CPU, and NO Throttle.

I attach the file for anyone that want to give it a Try.
Be aware that it MAY NOT WORK for everyone.
If the others BIOS in this thread worked, it should work too, but is always a risk.

you shouldn't, you need Wink

Have your power cord pluged and launch the insydeflash exe to start

one question, now i'm here ...

There is a way to add ivybridge microcodes and fully delete whitelist in your bios?

I've got some microcode and the motherboard will be compatible with 45w ivy bridge but i can't add them to the Bios with EZH20. Have you got a tip for this?
hm65/hm67 are not compatible with ivy bridge and acer notebooks dont have any whitelist.

i'm not aware about whitelisting Blush on acer computers but i can't use Egpu on my computer mini Pcie so i though that's because of this.

For ivy bridge support, clevo builds laptops with ivy bride support and 6 series chipsets

(w150ER for example)

intel sells sandy bridge motherboard with the arguement that we could put ivy onto them.

i've done my homework before asking Wink

but i wanna try, the lonely thing that miss is the way to integrate microcode to add ivybride steppings into the bios

ps: sorry for my poor english

yep sorry, i don't remember the exact model, but a clevo got one

third comment

and remembers intels saying IB => SB motherboard SB => IB Motherboard.

i think it's possible, i don't ask to someone to do it, i just want a way to try the integration of microcodes to try by my own and seeing. If it doesn't work i'll say that i was wrong, but i wanna try anyway

Thanks for your advice

[edit:] no i remember:
