Samsung NP355V bios update without good battery - how to do
#1
Photo
Hello everyone!

Today tried to update bios on laptop Samsung NP355V, but wasn't successful - battery is dead, native tool says wouldn't flash without battery, other tools say that it's write protected (tried sleep bug with no result), and in addition it looks like to the end of bios binary added MICOM firmware update binary - size is slightly more than 4Mb.

Standalone micom update tool also not work here - cycled error screen with weird text:

After some unsuccessful tries I go here to write this thread and ask for help.
And while making screenshot it accidently goes on o_O
Ofc battery is still completely dead.

As a result - everything updated OK, and if you have the same problem - just unpack official updater, run it, go to c:\Program Files (x86)\UEFI WinFlash\ for finally unpacked software, copy it somewhere and run some times with reboots/sleep between until successful run no asking for a good battery Smile Remember it may be not functional as standalone - just call it with rom file name as 1st and only parameter, or made a cmd to run.

Here is files in case someone need it (but better grab it from official site):
Bios update program with P09AAN bios+MICOM fw: http://rghost.ru/private/6cCmlxvLF/7ebe6...591f7d3f6b
usage: K99_V06.exe biosec.rom

Hope this info will be helpful for someone.
If you try above steps few times with no luck - try to do a break, do some tea or grab a cup of beer, at least look for a shaman tambourine and make a dance.
