[Project] SHE and AHCI BIOS mod for ASUS EeePC 1000H
#41
I have an eee904ha, which is basically a 1000ha with a 9 inch screen. Even the bios updates I get from ASUS say 1000ha.

I tried the 2204gts-02 version last night, and got the ahci mode working for my crucial c300 ssd. I saw the 10% increase in my benchmarks, my numbers were very smilar to one of the earlier posters. I could boot to both Windows 7 and to a Linux distro (Fuduntu) without any problems, as long as I was not running on the battery.

When I tried to boot on battery, I could sucessfully boot into Windows 7, and use the built in battery icon to switch from "power saver" to "balanced" modes, but when I tried to install Asus SHE utility, the video went crazy. When I tried to boot the Linux distro, it made it to the login prompt, then the video went crazy.

I wound up flashing the 2204 gt version (with no overclocking), and then everything worked normal (and ahci continued to work). I could install the Asus SHE utility, and it seemed to work fine.

Is there any other tweaks I was supposed to do to the overclocked version?

GTS version SHE is very similar to original bios ... the frequencies are only optimized within the range of frequencies that I have manually tested. However, this optimisation has been tested only on my 1000H ...

I have verified and the eee904ha use exactly the same BIOS than 1000H ... so the behavior you describe is very strange.

Mine - Lenovo Yoga 2 11 (Baytrail-M) Black, Intel 320 120Go, Intel N 6235, Lenovo ThinkPad Bluetooth, BIOS mod WLAN white list removal.
Daughter A - SONY VAIO S13 SVS1311C5E, Logitech V470, BIOS mod R0142C5 GT650M (850Mhz)
Daughter B - ASUS EeePC 1000H Pink, X25-M 80Go, 2Go, Microsoft 3500, DVD LG-GP08NU10, 1000HE keyboard mod, BIOS mod 2204GTX-01

Tol Phobos, he might have different timings set by SPD so after overclocking the system goes crazy. He should check whether the frequencies are stable for him first.

I am not normally an overclocker, so I wanted to get clarification.

Are you saying that I need to use a program like setfsb to determine how high I can raise the clock and remain stable?

If I do that, and determine that I can overclock a little, but not as much as the bios that are used here, will it be possible to get a new version of the bios to flash that has the frequencies I submit?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, maybe Tol_Phobos will implement this. But maybe you'll be able to find the reason of your instability and get it fixed.

Hello, I apologize for my English, I use google translator.

Thanks for the changes to the bios of EeePC 1000H, although they thanked you in a previous post.

I have little doubt, it would be possible to update the VBIOS of the graph, with the file "vbios_945gm.zip" that comes with the download of the latest intel drivers in zip format.

As I read, the VBIOS is updated within the bios of the team, I could not provide more data because it is beyond knowledge amis.

Anyway, I've uploaded the file, if you want to watch it.

First of all thank you very much and best regards.

Thanks a heap for this mod Smile GTS was not stable for me (wouldn't reboot and strange video issues) but just getting AHCI is enough of a bonus!!

Cheers,
Jason

I used version 1.3.0.4 of Asusupdate. Link to 1.3.0.4

It worked fine for me, multiple times on W7 Pro 32b

Good luck!

Available mods by Antinomy & Tol Phobos

You are legends.

Got a G-skill Phoenix Pro 60gb for my wife's 1000H and via a circuitous route found this excellent work.

I'll get back to you on how it goes. Must rest.

Regards, cheers and thanks,
Jem
