HP dv6265us Whitelist Removal Request (and a few questions)
#1
Hello!

First of all, I apologize if this BIOS has been posted already. I have searched the forums and mega thread, and remain very unclear whether the modded BIOSes work for my particular laptop.

Could anyone remove the whitelist for me, or point me to where I can download the appropriate one?

Laptop Info:
----------------
BIOS Download locations:
F2E (current): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48121.exe
F2D (previous): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp42001-42500/sp42187.exe
(I include the F2D b/c I found a mod here that shares the same name made by PyroRob. However, the author made it for his for a dv9000, and I'm assuming it does not work for a dv6000)

Model: HP DV6265us Pavillion (Intel CPU)
BIOS: Phoenix
Stock Wi-Fi card model:Intel 3945ABG
Stock Wi-Fi Hardware IDs: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4222_&SUBSYS_135B103C

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Also, is there a Phoenix BIOS modding how-to that is equivalent to the article on Insyde Bioses? I'd really be interested to know how to remove hardware checks for myself in the future.

Cheers!
-Faraway

Upon opening the WinPhlash 32 or 64 bit, click "Advanced Settings" then check and uncheck the boxes so it looks like this:

("Flags" Tab):
[ ] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
[ ] Verify BIOS image size
[ ] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Zero block before erasing
[x] Verify block after programming
[x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present)
[ ] Clear CMOS Checksum

("DMI" tab)
"Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"

It worked like a gem! The Intel 5100AGN that previously turned a 104 error is now working without issue.

Thanks for spending your personal time to respond to this request (and furthermore, with such amazing speed). So nice to help others out when they have nothing to give you in return. If you PM me a paypal link, I'd be happy to make a small donation. The least I can do now that I don't have a $150 N router going to waste!

Cheers Smile
