[Request-Camilo] Sony Vaio SA/SB/SC/SD/SE series R2085H4 Advanced Menu + Sata 3? Plz

(12-09-2011, 05:44 AM)camiloml Wrote: Let me lol about donations Smile

Unlocked bioses for SA/SB/... series (the 3 versions released till now) have hundreds downloads, and only 2 persons had the detail to donate something Smile so please don't use the "i will donate if..." Smile it's not believeable Smile

I'm not complaining, because the donation itself is something completely volunteer, but i laugh seeing how many people are willing to donate if, and then download and even no thanks are given Smile

don't feel offended or personally attacked, nothing farer my intention Smile just thinking in loud voice Smile

I hear you on that - I hate it when people say they will donate and then just take the goods and go. It's deception and stealing. That's why I donated for you to fix the BIOS on my mini 110-3000.

If you have time, I installed a second PCI slot (WWAN) but it's not powered on. I'm quite certain it's in the BIOS and I'd happily donate again to fix it! Big Grin

I would suggest though that you don't hand out the fixed BIOS's for free anymore. Make people donate to get them and that way you can make some money (and you should).

I have a serious problem if someone could please help.

I installed the modifiled unlocked R1031H4 on my Sony Vaio SA, and I was trying to get AHCI to work, which is giving me BSOD, so I tried to turn off peripherials to see if that would help.

The last thing I tried was to disable Internal Graphics, with ACHI on. Now nothing shows up on the screen. I don't know if pressing F2 is actually doing anything, but if it does, can someone guide me through the menu to enable internal graphics, with my blank screen? right, down down down (X times?), enter, down, enter, F10?

Or which function key "reset to default"? F9? And then which key saves and exits? F10?

I don't know if it is even running without the graphics card active.

thank you

UPDATE: Pressing F2 does nothing, after 10-15 seconds the laptop self powers off, and then will not turn on unless I unplug and remove battery, then replace again.

I need to reset CMOS. How do I do it?

UPDATE: I took out the motherboard and removed the CMOS battery, but it doesn't help. .....

I just spent the whole day installing all my software, getting ready to use my new laptop..... looks like i have to send it back.

I disconnected cmos battery, also tried shorting the pin, but it doesn't clear cmos. I will try to wait a couple ours for discharge. there is also a DIP switch with 1234: off. do you know if one of the switches will reset?

The only thing you reset is the real time clock. The two DIP swiches select the CPU type and panel type.

I guess a wrong selection of the graphics is the problem.
(IGFX, PEG, SG) What did you choose?

PEG messed it up!

I disabled internal graphics thinking that would keep me locked on the Radeon, but I did not read the warning in another forum about this exact setting bricking the laptop until after I had done the change.

I'm not sure how long it will take Sony to repair it but I can't wait so long. I'm thinking of getting a refurbished SE2 (to replace this while I wait, I can sell one of them after). Do you know if R1031H4 works on SE2?

Thanks

[censored] ya, I managed to brick my SE too.
Now I need a full BIOS dumb (32MBit) to reflash the BIOS to a valid state. But first I have to check what additional hardware I need.

Will post my fail or win here Rolleyes

I don't know if the SE2 works with the R1031H4.

I just saw these posts on BIOS recovery for insyde BIOS and HP. have you tried any of these methods? do you know if there is one that will work for Sony? my laptop is in the repair shop. I will see if I can ask to take it back for the weekend to try.

looks like the recovery key combination might be different, win + esc or fn+esc and need to find the right file name.

I haven't found a post with successful flash though. an option might be to contact insyde and ask.

I know these threads for a while. The SE BIOS seems not to contain a recovery part. I wait now for a flash programmer ...
