May be Intel FTP used by Sovem in Others threads . . . or Universal Bios Backup.

Thank you for your reply. However, I make a very specific request for a specific reason; as stated above, no tools I've been able to find work on this machine.

These include Universal, several different Intel FPT versions, Testback, a couple versions of Flashit, and probably some I've forgotten about. I am now trying to acquire Intel FPT 9.5.1.1458 (the only version that I know exists but haven't been able to download anywhere).

roro789 appears to literally be the ONLY person on the planet to extract a ROM from this machine so far, so I pray he/she continues to monitor this thread. IF someone else has done it and written about it, they have done it on a site that Google search crawlers ignore or cannot reach.

Anybody have Intel FPT 9.5.1.1458?
Thanks again

Hi again BDMaster, I would love to try that one! Thank you for sticking with me on this
EDIT: I obtained 9.5.1.1458 and was able to dump with it! I will now open the file and post back if I need the newer tool for some reason, but I wanted to thank you again for your help!

Turns out I need a DOS version of FPT (fpt.exe - not fpt32 or fpt64) to flash modded BIOS back to the machine and the package I have doesn't have DOS version. If yours has DOS version it would likely solve my problem. Thanks

Most of my journey is documented over at forums.mydigitallife.info (search my username paperwolf). What a nightmare... and all because I want 802.11ac. Bought many PCs over the years and just been lucky enough never to have a Lenovo because I was unaware of this horrible whitelisting practice.

Anyway, bottom line is I cannot flash my Serg008 modded BIOS to the machine. Someone will need to figure out how to bypass the write protection. Meanwhile, Lenovo tops my hate list for putting this unnecessary burden on their customers. What a joke.
