It looks like you are able to recover from a brick, so would you mind test something for me? Try flashing all four of these roms. Let me know which ones brick and which don't. This'll help us determine which bios are moddable and which are not. Thanks! Big Grin

Hello donovan6000,
My BIOS can't be recoveryed,i try all method to recovery it but faillure. Finally,i just remove bettary for CMOS and wait 5min ,when i turn on the laptop, the screen display following word:

The CMOS checksum is invalid.
The CMOS will be reset to the default configuration and will be rebooted.
Please check your BIOS Setup options to see if they changed.
CMOS Reset (502)
ENTER - Reboot the system

Then i press enter and laptop reboot byitself, and then it can boot into desktop,so i flashed the offical BIOS from HP website.

So the laptop was final now but i still can't recovery it by using U-Disk or HardDisk.

Then

Your Four files i will help trying to flash it ,and i will report here.

Thanks

Regards!

Ok Donovan sent to me the DLL patched, so copy and replace original with this one into Bios
Folder I sent last time (that which has bricked laptop) and try to reflash again !

http://www.mediafire.com/download/m7d29m...sh.dll.zip

Let me know
Regards

Just replace one DLL can prevent bricked laptop.Thats amazing.

I will try.

Thanks you for your replay.

The DLL was replaced in origial package,so there is no need to change DLL file.
PS: I checked the HEX between two DLL ,and i find they all same.

So i think the brick is not be DLL problem.

Thanks for testing those. That really helps validate some of my ideas abotu RSA bios Big Grin

I never said I unlocked any tabs. I just changed 'Main' to 'Nain' because I wanted a quick way to make the rom would fail the RSA check. Now we know the bios for your computer made before F32 are moddable and all after and including F32 are not moddable. That's pretty good since before we could only guess which of the 16 bios released for your computer were moddable Cool

Did both you and your friend manage to unbrick both your computers?

I'll upload a modded F.24 in a couple minutes. Thanks again! Big Grin

Here you go. You'll find an EFI boot setting under the system configurations tabs. Eventhough this setting exists, I've never seen anyone successfuly get EFI working perfectly on one of these older HP laptops. Insyde and HP decided to remove a lot of EFI functionality. All we can do is unlock options, so if it doesn't work then there's nothing we can do about it Undecided

And try to come back to this forum during the next couple of days. I have one more thing I want you to test regarding RSA bios modding. Hopefully this test will be able to dtell us if the signature verification check is in the PEI or DXE region of the rom Big Grin
