@ jokerkr: It looks like Lenovo has locked this BIOS down pretty well. As I've already said in a PM, you'll probably need a BIOS hardware flasher device. I really dont think there is any other way around this. I would still suggest getting the external USB wifi adapter. I'm just going to buy a better laptop when I have enough money, something that will let me have the wifi card I want.

Hi friend,
I want to start a New Way to pass Mods to users :

AutoMod

Using CodeRush Tool UEFIPatch + Patches.txt We can do the Mod by ourself, in any time and wherever We are !!!

Just use the right Patches.txt for the own Bios Version, so for 7ACN89WW use this one !!!

How to use ? It's easy, just do a biosbackup.bin file and drag&drop on UEFIPatch.exe (the Patches.txt file has to be togheter at tool) It will reply with a file patched, then rename that file as bios.bin, put It into modified folder where are all rest tools to re-flash Bios Mod and copy all files from modified folder to an USB Dos Formatted Bootable Stick and Boot from USB !
Then at CLI Prompt Comand run flash.bat That's It all !

Here CodeRush Tool :

http://rghost.net/56830811

The Patches.txt file for 7ACN89WW :

http://rghost.net/56830817

Here Modified folder with all tools to re-flash Bios Mod from USB, follow instructions :

http://rghost.net/56795507

I hope It will become the New Mod Way !!!

Let me know

Alternatively You can get original Patches.txt file from CodeRush UEFIPatch Tool and add this row :

http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-UE...ge-patcher

# UEFIL05BIOSLock | Whitelist | F8=00
11D378C2-B472-412F-AD87-1BE4CD8B33A6 10 O:0376:7500

Be sure to get a space as last char of row !!!

To clear this infos :

" I did an backup with the universal BIOS Backup Toolkit.

And now i get an .rom is this right?

Because here you write from an .bin:

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...val?page=2

When i want to get a patched BIOS i only must to to this file in the UEFI Patch folder and modify the patches.txt ?

Greetings "

Ok friend,
I write about a .bin as I prefer to use FPT Intel tool, but Universal Bios Backup is good too and just rename your file as biosbackup.bin or bios.bin then continue the procedure.
Yes Coderus UEFIPatch tool consists into two files :

UEFIPatch.exe
Patches.txt
Then your Bios Backup File = biosbackup.bin (or bios.bin)
Drag&Drop biosbackup.bin on .exe file and Yu'll get a biosbackup.bin.patched file !
This is your file then rename It as bios.bin and move It into modfied folder etc. ...

Kemod sai to me time ago :

Please be aware on device support list :

EZP2010/EZP2013 support MX25L3205D but doesn't support MX25L3206E

GQ-4X support both MX25L3205D and MX25L3206E

Minipro TL866CS support both MX25L3205D and MX25L3206E

One of the most important difference between those:

- MX25L3205D utilize WP#/ACC on pin #3. To enable erase/write programmer must give +9.5-10.5V to this pin.
- MX25L3206E utilize WP# on pin #3. To enable erase/write programmer must give VCC signal (+3.3V) to this pin.

Macronix MXIC explain this on migration document that using MX25L3205D programmer on MX25L3206E
will DAMAGE the chip (overvoltage on pin #3)
http://www.macronix.com/Lists/TechDoc/At...D_0514.pdf

For your reference on device support list:

EZP2010
http://www.c-u-s.co.uk/files/EZP2010_Dev...t_List.txt

GQ-4X
http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/mc...ortICs.asp

Minipro TL866 Series
http://www.autoelectric.cn/minipro/MiniP...rtList.txt

Hint: Look for 'Macronix' or 'MXIC' chips (the one that Lenovo use most)

For cost and futureproof sake, I can recommend you to use the same hardware programmer as mine
(Minipro TL866CS). It's very cheap (I get it @ USD 39) and have very large device support list database.

sorry to bother you, but I have one question :
i have TL866A and cant read or write to MX25L3205D, it said "check id error", how did you manage to program it

Hi friend,
I have the same Programmer like your and I have to desold Chip from Board !!!
I have got some suggestion from an chinese eingeneer and I can post for You but I didn't try them.

Dual Bios t Repair :

1. Buy one new bios chip and its model is the same as your motherboard's bios. Then program the bios files into the new chip by using programmer.

2. Solder the new bios chip on the SOIC 8-16 SMD adapter. Next, connect the adapter of PIN4 to PIN7 by wiring. Between the PIN7 and PIN8, solder one 4.7K resistor.

3. Connect the test clip to SOIC 8-16 SMD adapter by Dupont wire. Next, clamp the bios chip on board by using test clip. Please make sure the wiring method is correct.

4. Turn on computer. If it is ok, the computer will boot normally---then remove the test clip from motherboard. Get the BIOS REFLASH software from the manufacturer website
and refresh your motherboard's bios chip. Next, restart computer. That's all, the repair job is finished.

http://rghost.net/58223546

I hope It's clear for You and You'know what to do or in easy way remove Eeprom Chip from the board reprogramm It and resold.
A good Programmer is MCUMall GQ-4X USBPrg and in 80% I got good results using POMONA Soic Clip

Thank you very much,
I must read content of chip to make backup (bricked board) , have one (from another board for test) unsoldered and it wont verify it, it isnt damaged 100%.
Ill try soldering on the SOIC adapter
