the bin file should be alright and correct now, desoldered it from my motherboard, will upload the other later on.
Maybe you can have a check on this bios new bios

Ok friend,
your is now ok as structure but You read only half size !
Normal Bios File is starting from 0x00000000h Offset to 0x00400000h address and it end with this bytes 785634120000F0FF !!!
Your end to 0x00228000h offset and is filled of 0x00h bytes until 0x00400000h address !!! ,so I think something is set wrong on your SPIPGM.
I compared your with another I got (is a Bios Backp) and there are these differences, not normal as your is missing of a good chunk containing DMI informations (UUID, Serial, Model, Windows Key, Etc.).
You can do by yourself as You get your Bios Backup 8ECN94WW done by FPT tool, It's the complete Region_Bios Dump !!!
I can use this one to make a Mod and reflash by SPIPGM, but if We cannot get right version reading We can never write again back Modded !!!
Look again your SPIPGM setting choice the right Eeprom Chip and retry.
Let me know
Regards

Hi BDMaster,

Thanks for the information, I will check later on and see if i can get a good one for you. Also get the other rom (W25Q16DV).

I detect the chip id and then select the W25Q32FV as that is what it is saying on the chip itself so that should be the correct id of the chip.

Let me get a good one, no use to waste time on a incorrect bios backup, will let you know when i got the backups.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Johnny

Ok friend,
it's not problem for time or for modding I am doing best for You as
if You SPI Programmer It's not working well You cannot rewrite the Bios Mod and your laptop will fault and You would to buy another Chip preprogrammed to soldering on MoBo.
Please let me get te 2nd Dump file !
I will prepare your Bios Mod based on FPT Backup (I got It too).
Regards

Hi BDMaster,

So I read the chips with an adapter now, can you have a look if this is ok?

W25Q32FV
W25Q16DV

Let me know if you need something else, the w25q32 should be correct now.

Regards.

Your Bios is second file W25Q32BV.BIN, but UEFITool say It's bad !!!
You can try to open by this Tool (CodeRush Prg) :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...and-editor

https://github.com/LongSoft/UEFITool/rel....4_win.zip

So I will try to modfy this one but I think You will have problems !

Ok friend,
I foud an your Bios Backup done by FPT about LENOVO-8ECN94WW.rom and It's good so I used this one for
Bios Mod then You have to write It into W25Q32BV 4096 KB Bios Region and that's It !!!

Hey BDMaster,

Okay will try the backup from the FPT tool.

But I think you were using an old version bios from me that indeed was corrupt as I did not have the proper tool to read from it.

The version that is correctly taken from the bios is W25Q32FV_G (checked this also with the UEFI tool, no error messages for me) and the other one is the W25Q16DV_G (other bios chip on the board), maybe you want to have a look as asked before.

Thanks a lot for your help, will let you know how things go!

J
