[Request] HP DV2500 SATA 2 and unlock everything like IDA
#1
Hello, previously few months back i posted a thread asking to remove the wifi whitelist for my dv2500. Heres the thread:https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP-Pavilion-dv2500-Whitelist-Removal-Request And the bios made by ttav134 suggested by BDMaster works like a charm after tapping the pin 20.
Today, I need somebody to help me:
1) enable sata 2 as I'm pretty sure my south bridge have the capability to enable sata 2 as my laptop has a Intel GM965 or simply ICH8M. I need sata 2 as I'm running hackintosh and its painfully slow. Even my x61 has the same hdd as my this dv2000, flashed the middleton bios sata 2 running el capitan is even faster than this despite no QE/CI!
2) Also i hope somebody can enable IDA and some/all hidden setting in the bios! I really need IDA. Thanks.
3) Last question, can i flash bios another time despite flashed the patched bios that time? Will it cause any friction or something?

Maybe somebody can built upon the bios made by ttav134 since it have the wifi whitelist removed. The link i attached for the bios is what BDMaster gave it to me in the previous thread. Thank you very much Smile

My laptop info:
-Manufacturer: Hp
-Model: Hp Pavilion DV2500 Notebook PC
-Bios Revision:F.2E
-Bios Release:2008-12-15
-Bios Download Link:http://rghost.net/6mvVkh5qk

Hi mate,
To add new feature on an old Bios is not easy and many times impossible !
If that Firmware was developed to use the SATA2 and Chipset can roll over It then
something is possible otherwise forget It and buy a new PC Wink
Regards

P.S. give a look here (different laptop but same issue) :

Hi there BDMaster, thanks for the reply. But is it possible to maybe rewrite the bios perhaps? Because the middleton bios for lenovo x61, t61 and etc, middleton also rewrite the bios to enable it. Because due to financial constrain, I'm unable to buy a new laptop. Im using this laptop for my school stuff. Moreover, i just upgraded the processor from t7100 to t9300 for 40 bucks. Thank you very much. Appreciate it.

Let me know
Regards

P.S. I hope You are talking about same Bios like your (same Motherboard) as if different It has no sense !

Hi, here it is: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Middleton's_BIOS As you can see middleton modified the bios to enable sata ii. Btw, I'm just giving you an example that my dv2000 counterpart the t61 and x61 which has the same ich8m is capable and possess SATA 2 interface. I didn't say its the same bios nor mobo. Thank you very much.

Yes and I saw that HP is an Insyde menwhile Lenovo is a Phoenix then
Insyde haven't internal code to make change menwhile lenovo got more than needs !
You are comparing Mars and Earth and do You want to trasform 1st into 2nd . . .
do You think is possible Wink
All We can try to do is get an HP Laptop (same generation) like your that have a newer
Bios with SATA2 actived and this is 1st big difficulty as We have to ask to any user has
HP Laptop with features like yours to reply and help !
Then try to extract Module that has this function and replace into your Bios to introduce
It for your too, but the probability thtat this Bios will work are very low !
I can say that as I tried to activate Full UEFI on Acer Aspire 8958G adding many Modules
and I didn't get It working, but just few things Wink

Hi bdmaster, thanks for the reply. I didn't know modding a insyde bios is harder compared to a Phoenix bios. I thought modding bios is just using some hex editor or something and decode and etc. I'm not a IT student. Anyway let's pretent I didn't said the sata 2 mod. Are you able to help me enable some hidden features like the IDA? Because afaik, those laptop from my dv2000 era like the dell d630 has Ida option in the bios. IDA is quite important as it can slightly make it faster if I'm not wrong. If so can you help me enable it using the bios modified by ttav? As i need the wifi whitelist too! Many thanks! Btw, you said you tried enable full uefi on the acer. So How was it? Does fast boot works? Please correct me if I'm wrong I thought a legacy bios is legacy bios it cannot be changed to uefi?

Hi, Sorry i guess i didn't read correctly as I'm too tired. Ha! Because the time i replied to you was 5am in the morning i haven't sleep yet due to migraine. Thanks for the link, i just read. But I'm not competence and do not have windows in my com. So is it possible for you to help me enable those hidden menu in the bios? Im reckon IDA(intel dynamic acceleration) is one of them. Thank you very much. Really sorry to bother you. Thank you for so patience with me.
