Bricked Lenovo G580 20157
#1
I managed to brick my Lenovo G580 20157 while flashing the factory bios, and am now looking for someone to help me get the correct files to fix this.  I had tried the fn + r with the bios on usb, but the fan only ran at high speed and the usb was never accessed.  This laptop has two different size bios chips in it, and my backup files are to large to flash onto either one.  I am running a Raspberry Pi with a SOP8 test clip and the program flashrom to try to fix this. I pulled the image off of the two chips, and attached them below.

*Files removed after fixing this myself, see post 2*

I would appreciate any help or advice that any of you could offer.

Just an update to end this post.  The cheapest way for me to get this finally fixed, was to purchase a dead motherboard from ebay.  I was then able to backup the two bios chips from that board, flash the chips on my board, and then flash one of my original backup files after the computer booted into dos.  Flashing my original backup restored my serial number, board number, and UUID.

I hope that this information might help someone else in the future.  This might be a cautionary tale if you have the tools to properly backup your bios image, especially if you own a board with tandem bios chips, make the proper backup images before you start to ever update your bios image.
