Clevo M720T Bios update necessary?
#1
Booting stops with message "0271:check Date and time settings. 0251: System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used" when I press F1 booting continues. Changing time-settings in bios doesn't help, notebook forgets when I shut down.
I've changed CMOS-battery, same message.
BIOS is Phoenix 1.02.22, Clevo sent me 1.02.28 (see attachment)

Now I need some advice, no experience in updating bios so far.

Should I update?
If yes, which procedure? I haven't got a .rom or.bin-file to put on a thumbdrive. Did Clevo forget to send me the bios?

thank you for your advice!

Thank you!
is this the way to run bios.bat? Just take bios.bat instead of the below mentioned BIOS.WPH?

1) You`d better flash from dos using a bootable usb drive .......... you should have any bootable USB or floppy .
2 ) Download the HP tool which will make your floppy or USB bootable & the DOS98 files from this link :

http://www.mediafire.com/?1b2zr67o1y5v4gr

3 ) Create the Bootable USB or FLOPPY using the tool with options in this pic :-

4 ) Copy the BIOS.WPH ( original or modified ) to the USB drive and copy the PHLASH16.EXE as well ( provided in the previous link with the HP tool ) .

5 ) Boot from the USB drive and write this command after it boots :-

PHLASH16 /S /X /FORCE
then press ENTER .

Rename 100228.72T to BIOS.WPH for this method.

I've just been told to send the notebook in. Won't do so, its not worth the trouble (and the money) I'm just curious, what the cause is. Thank you for taking time!

Update 02-25-2017 Error only happens when notebook runs on battery, no problems, as long as the power supply is plugged in. Huh
