[Request] Acer Aspire V5-552(P,G) BIOS Unlock
#11
My bad, I assumed you has an Intel series 6 mobo. Try this version of fptw made for series 7. Or if you have series 5, there's also one for that here.

Lol I'm not even 21 yet. Don't encourage under age drinking hahahhaha Tongue

When you ran InsydeFlash.exe it creates a few log files. Can you upload those? Hopefully they'll help me detemine where the validation check is. Also when you try to flash the modded bios, does it look like they're bing flashed like normal? Or does the flasher quickly relize that the bios are invalid and restarts your computer?

Lol thanks XD

Lol thanks XD

It appears to flash as normal restarts the pc then says the flash is invalid.

Lol that error report was so minimal Tongue

So I found the "Insyde Secure Flash Invalid Firmware" string in the bios, and I made a version that bypasses the function that uses it. However, since no ones done this before, then it might result in a brick. I would hate for your computer to be bricked because of me, so only try this version if your willing to accept the risk. I'll understand if you don't want to. So here it is. Undecided

Hi,I have bought an Acer V5-552G laptop, and I found my BIOS may the same as V5-552P-X617.

Here are two different upgrade file, you can extract .exe file by WINRAR,execute it directly will start the upgrade progress without any confirm.

@imfan Yes, those are the exact same bios that we were modding in this thread.

If you try flashing this untested version, then you could help us continue trying to mod these bios. Be aware that the modifications that these bios contain are untested, so it might result in a brick. Only flash if your willing to accept the risks Undecided

XD hahahahha, I can't believe that on Eternal Mangekyou's first day back from being banned for two weeks he'd get banned again Tongue He's actualy some Indian 13 year old, so don't take anything he says seriously.

The bios update has a bios rom in it. Your just not looking in the right place Wink Don't assume that all files are packed in a standard way that archiving software like Winrar and WinZip can understand.

And I have no expirence with preforming the recovery procedure on Acer computers. Try a couple of the methods mentioned in the generic Insyde bios recovery procedure here.
