[REQUEST] ASUS K53TK BIOS Unlock
#1
Hi comrades,

I suppose you guys have a pretty busy schedule out there..
But if you have a few moments to spare, and have a charitable soul, can you make that bios (below) more cooperative, so that he let me plug my big egpu in his tiny little pcie 1x hole...
I think it's a whitelist issue, black screen from the abyss (not the movie) when booted up...

My config is :
Laptop : Asus K53TK (amd chip of course..)
BIOS : AMI v206
EGPU : exp gdc v8 with geforce gtx 1050 Ti

The very best regards,

Fruity

Did you try with UEFI Boot enabled and disabled?

Do you have flash programmer like CH341A and SOIC8 test clip cable? If not, order a set now and then I can help you with unlocked BIOS, where you can enable/disable different graphics related settings. You need to be able to recover BIOS via programmer before you start changing these settings because sometimes a clear CMOS wont fix a bad setting on this, and you'll be stuck with black screen.

Right now PowerXpress is enabled and set to Dynamic mode, I think setting fixed or disabling switchable (powerXpress) may help, that or one of the GPP settings or disable integrated graphics etc, but to mess with these you really need to be able to recover via flash programmer right away if setting does not work.

Hi Lost_N_BIOS, thank you for your response!

UEFI tried but it did not help..
I have totally no idea what are CH341A and SOIC8 are but I will do some researches!

Thank you for all of these, I will let you know about my progress.

Regards,

Fruity

Ch341A is a flash programmer, and SOIC8 test clip is a cable with clip on it you use to connect to BIOS so you don't have to do any soldering.
These are cheap on ebay, but long wait for delivery, 3-5 weeks if you order cheapest items/ You can find them at other places for more $$ that might ship to you faster, places like Newegg or Amazon, and of course there is usually someone close to you on ebay that will ship faster for more $$ too.
