Lenovo M90p Xeon Support + Question
#1
Hey everyone,
I just pulled this M90p out of storage that I tried myself to update the microcode a few years ago. I know these machines support the 4 core, 8 threaded xeons from both a friend's pc as well as various online sources, but I had a strange issue when I tried myself. (I assume this is due to my own error since it was my first time).

I tried to add support for an X3470. At first it wouldn't boot with it or recognize it, but after trying myself it now boots, but recognizes as a i5-650 (the cpu in the system beforehand, which it came with). It's running with only two cores, at 3.2 ghz.
Can someone give me a bios update with support for all of the LGA 1156 Xeons? I don't have time to fiddle with it myself at the moment.
Thanks as always, information below.  Smile

Information

Please let me know if photos of the cpu are required for the stepping or anything else.

Did you test your Xeon on other system?
Make good photo of your Xeon.

I don't have any other LGA 1156 motherboards at the moment besides another one of this exact machine. I have two of these Xeons that I bought as a pair, both show up as i5 650's in CPU-Z.

I won't be able to take a photo until tomorrow but I'll post one

Install this CPU.
Do Load Defaults in BIOS, save and reboot.
Boot from any Windows Live DVD/USB.
Make TXT-report of CPU-Z, zip it and attach to this topic.

Well I'll be damned, resetting the bios to default settings fixed the issue.

Thanks a bunch for the help Smile
