Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V3545 4GB support

Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V3545 and 4GB support

Hello Guys

I have this Notebook and i try to use full 4GB of RAM, i went thru lots of pages, forums and now know that is propably not fully posible use all 4GB becouse of "Chipset intel 945PM" which can addres only 4GB as there is need some space (Approx 1GB) for antoher hardware. But i saw is possible have 3,5 or 3,8GB of Ram which is little better Smile

I know that this Notebook is an old machine but i like him have it 14 years without issues so is for me something more like only computer Smile

I think that is propably possible resize this 1GB part for another hardware to less, i presume that Graphic card eat lot of this space? I only thinking, this card have 128MB, but in windows is shared memory around 1GB for this, maybe should have this memroy less or so, not sure how this working.

BIOS dont have remap functionality

If anyone would like to look on this I am attaching full config of notebok and last BIOS file.

Of course, I'll understand if it's old, because I'm sure you have some newer things done

Anyway Thank you all in advance

Tomas

Open Device Manager, click View at the top of the Device Manager window, click Resources by type, and then select Memory. This should give you an output similar to the picture shown below

Your laptop uses 945PM with 32bit's PAE. So it can't address memory above 4GB.
In your laptop memory above 0xC0000000 address is used by internal devices. So only 3072 Mb are available. It can't be changed by any BIOS patches.

I know some laptops go the extra mile and detect 3.25 or 3.37GB of RAM, but it appears to depend on the kind of BIOS you are running if I recall correctly. I've had an IBM T60 get up to 3GB and an HP tc4400 get to 3.37GB.

Less internal devices - more available memory.

Less internal devices - more available memory, yes this sounds logical. so if there is no way to free up more memory we can close this ticket.

Only thinking Smile i know there is removable Wifi card and bluetoth modul, teoreticaly when i remove these from motherboard should i have more memory showed in bios? (i have no plans to do this, its only question Smile
