Let's leave it as is.
Hello. They arrived today Smile.

Attempt No1: I flash the bios with the file you send. Power button turns on and then off.

Attempt No2: I flash again the factory bios. Power button stay on an CPU got activity.

Attempt No3: I replace all the old modules names in the file you send me with the new ones still as attempt No1 powers on then off.

I see a guide from someone who do the same but with DDR3 again with Samsung Memory.

Here is the link maybe you understand something you know much more than me in Bios.

Upgrade Ram Asus DDR3

On the page it is mentioned that they did change something representing the current signal, but it doesn't say what exact SPD' part it is.

I'll check if bytes in the formula for 16G matches with my edit of byte 4.

Everything seems to be correct. According to the terminology table of byte 6, package ranks per DIMM number must be multiplied on die count.
Having 2 package ranks there should be 8 logical ranks.
SDRAM package type can be obtained from SPD byte 6 bits 6-4, while package ranks count - from byte 12 bits 5-3.

Total capacity calculation for K4UBE3D4AA-MGCR (with edited SPD) is stupidly simple.
SDRAM capacity in megabits / bus width / SDRAM width * logical ranks = 16384 / 8 * 16 / 16 * 8 = 16384 Megabytes.

Here's the capacities from default SPD. But value for the old rams does not correlate with what actually is. Did I miscalculate? Luckily, none exceeds 16G. Do you have any idea?

I can't undestand what those 32 equal occurences of SPD blocks mean. Adding up calculated capacities from them together, you can get 6144 MB.

Hello! I replace only the names in the sections instead the SPD not in the SPD just to see if have any luck.

in the table you send me trying to figure it out...

Total
8192 / 8 * 16 / 16 * 2
K4U6E3S4AA-MGCR 2G  <----  x 4 modules  = 8G this has.

Total
8192 / 8 * 16 / 16 * 8
K4UBE3D4AA-MGCR 8G  <--- x 4 modules = 32G not correct if i understand. Must be 4G x 4 modules total 16G not total 32G.

According Samsung Density from K4U6E3S4AA-MGCR  = 16G and K4UBE3D4AA-MGCR  = 32G.

I purchased 4 new  K4UBE3D4AA-MGCR 4G each, soldered total 4x4G = 16G instead the 4x2G total = 8G.

with this example:
8192 / 8 * 16 / 16 * 8
K4UBE3D4AA-MGCR 8G must be 32G right?

I am going to read carefully the .pdf cause from bios i am totally scrap...

I think that there's something we are missing... i took a photo from both SPD's the differences is small. I think that the SPD table is already fixed with the modules listed inside and there must be some switch to activate - deactivate each. to switch them from 8G to 16G somewhere must deactivate the 8G and activate the 16G.

If we don't figure it out i will reball and resolder the 4x2G and i throw the 200euros if still working after all the modifications Tongue

Because now we change the bit from 15h to 16h and we leave all the others as is even the memconfig inside the bios, and i say... why the bit was 15h and not 16h? Maybe we must change the defaults parameters to recognize the new and tell to the memconfig that the rams are the new?

There is and another flash chip same as the bios with only 1mb content i attach it maybe can help.

Those names belong to SPD. How do you think computer would assign model name to a certain memory chip.

Not every pad has to be occupied with a mem chip. There must be some switch. You're right.
I will continue researching.

Find BIOS files attached.
16.bin
4.bin
I've cleaned info about the old rams.

This is the firmware of embedded controller.
