Hmmmm, what kind of chip is the BIOS chip, is it a soldered PLCC32?

I'm thinking SPI if supported is the only chance, but just amgically ghost writing to another motherboard that isn't responsive normally worn't work

i got my 2gb flash drive formated to Fat32 and i make it bootable with the win98 files and then i added the AMIBOOT.ROM fille

it will blink for about 5 seconds then i hear 4 beeps

the only problem is when i turn it on there is no video but i dont hear the power on beeps i used to hear

did it work or did it not work?

i had the original stock bios once apon a time and then i flashed the custom bios you guys made and it worked fine

then i tried to flash the BIOS that i had backed up (from the rom with a rom dumper) to restore it to default and i forgot to unblock the file and i used a windows based flasher (forgot what i used)
but when i flashed it i made SURE that the BOOT Block was NOT flashed im not sure about the last block if i flashed it or not

now which bios should i flash?

the stock ones that messed it up
or the custom ones that worked?

I think I may have failed at flashing the bios on my Gateway DX4831, I did back up the original rom with the universal backup.exe file, but when I try to restore that original rom it still does not want to boot back up Sad
I have read the ami recovery thread and went in search of the factory rom from gateway's website but no luck, also it doesnt have a floppy drive either so I'm not sure what I need to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated !
