[REMOVED] DV6-3071tx Whitelist Removal

(07-06-2011, 04:01 AM)camiloml Wrote: Uffff!!! Have you tried taking the original 01448F23.bin file and copy to root of pendrive naming it 01448.bin

Make some copies of it and name 01448F23.bin, 01448F23.fd, 01448.bin, 01448.fd and try with them. Use original bin from the stock flasher opened with winrar or 7zip.

Maybe it works via CD and not pendrive. Just a guess. Wish you luck, and sorry for my mistake.
its definately trying to access the flash drive, also tries to access the hdd as well, alternates for a little while, but after 10 seconds of it alternating between the 2, still no go.
Have tried a few of the original .bin files extracted from the sp files available from hp, not a single one (renamed or otherwise) makes a difference to the sequence i get.

It definately looks like it goes to do it, but for whatever reason brings up the screen and straight away says it failed and will reboot.

yeah seems that this laptop uses a so far undocumented method for the recovery, as no key presses are required to initiate it (and pressing them has made no difference) as well as no beeps being made, just the hdd and flash drives access lights blinking when they are accessed.

it lives!

removed the hdd, copied the 01448.bin and 01448.sig file onto my usb drive, which was formatted using the HP BIOS Uefi tools download, and put it into the Uefi tools partition on the hdd as well in the BIOS>New, BIOS>Current and BIOS>Previous folders (same on usb as well) put it all back together and it recovered itself!

... time to [censored] it again.. i want my whitelist Big Grin

Edit:
Ok so i flashed your bios again, and rebooted a few times, and the lappy works ok with it, shutdown and install the new wireless card and im greeted by the new error screen with error (702) Unsupported wireless device etc...

Once I take the new card out and put old one back in, lappy once again doesnt boot, says bios recovery failed etc...
ok having broken it a second time, without the usb drive it says recovery failed etc, with the usb drive plugged in it recovers perfectly... this usb drive is now worth its weight in gold Big Grin

throw another whitelist at me to test, i feel immune Tongue

might be worth trying the second newest bios instead, F13A (sp50368) here

also if it makes it any easier on either of them, the current wireless cards details are:

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_3040103C&REV_01

Hmmmm, i see the wireless whitelist in 3 or 4 modules, but is not really clear how to bypass check and if is needed to bypass in one of the modules or two of them, or three or in the four.

This new schema is for sure the hardest i have seen. Don't want to pach and bypass too much code because that can make the notebook very very unstable, avoiding perhaps some PCI device initialisation process. I hope TTAV134 was here and had a look at the new whitelist checks.
