Can you take a picture of what it shows when it boots?

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

Hello,

Sorry for answering so late.
I've attached 4 images.
1. is how the boot shows when initializing marvel controller with 1025 bios. 6gb/s
2. the screen which flash again marvel firmware, after I flashed mb bios
3. is how the boot shows when initializing marvel controller with 1029 bios. 1.5gb/s
4. what it's showing when I try to flash marvel controller manualy, when default 1025 firmware is installed. Maybe it helps.

Thanks.

PS. They advertised this controller to be PCI-E 4x and there is initialiez as 1x no matter which bios is used 1025 or 1029. Why ?

Hi,

Did you manage to take a look at those screens ?

Thanks

I looked but I do not know why that has happened. I am not all that familiar with Marvell. Does it work if you go back to an earlier firmware version again?

If I flash with latest original Asus Bios, the marvel controller returns back to 1025 and works as previously at 6gb/s.
So should I flash only the first bios with intel and jmicron, and leave marvel as it is ? Or there can be an workaround ?
Also for lan is any update ?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about LAN; I do it sometimes (particularly for Realtek since it's easy) but it's only actually used if you actually use PXE.

I can try giving you a different version of the Marvell firmware, I suppose...

Ok, then, I'll be glad to try a new version for the marvel rom + ich10 + jmicron.

Thanks

Any update on this issue ? I saw other users requesting updated marvell for same controller on their asus board. I'm curios if it will work for them.

As far I understood this marvell update 1029/1027 are for gigabytes motherboards only.
For Asus and Asrock motherboard it seems to work 1027 mod by f5bjf. (See attached file, you need to run go.bat from firmware/cpuide/go.bat folder, not the one from root.)

Here is the full discussion, you need to translate from french to english. But on page 3 is this text:

"For those who have or Asrock ASUS card can be flashed with the latest kit is the only condition not to flash the BIOS To do this we need to get that part .... 10000 rename it with the name is in the config.txt Restart imgcreate reflash and Pierre"
I don't know what is supposed to mean, maybe you understand.
Also more from that discussion:
Oops! I made a mistake when you edit the file config.txt is why I had an error when starting Marvell Tool. I corrected my error and reloaded the bios. Once the software starts and Marvell transferring a first portion of the rom successfully until the @ 20030. But when transferring the 2nd block here is that the software displays: % addr = 10000 size = 80000 Verified failed at 80 001 Expecting FF FF FF FF ....... ...... Goal found A5.A5.A5.78 Flashing failed! The PC does not want to start with the card. I reloaded the bios modified to 1213 without rebooting. The card is not recognized at startup. Here it is beyond my skills ... Maybe with the original bios Asrock?
* www.rapidshare.com/files/428859200/sp1214.rar is a kit that I have to redo (in the directory there is also the original image of the card Asrock with a programmer to program SPI) I did the manip just now the bios is 0.0.0.1010 as home can be So the problem was that the EPROM is not blank but hey here's what that must be a - go-e (to erase completely) above do not stop the machine or do some manipulation either 2 - then go x-v- Pierre

Thanks
