Question about BIOS whitelist removal request.
#1
I am new to BIOS upgrades but got caught unable to upgrade my laptop Wifi adapter. Trying to fulfil the requirements for the request I am having trouble locating my original BIOS download page. I have a HP DV2050US with BIOS F.0B but can only find newer BIOSs from HP. I am trying to upgrade from Intel Pro 3945 abg card to an Intel 4965AGN. Does this mean I should upgrade my BIOS before requesting the whitelist removal?

I flashed my BIOS and my old card still works and my new card gives me:
104-Unsupported wireless network device detected.
System Halted. Remove device and restart.

I may have not given you all the data you needed, I gave you the info for my OLD CARD NOT MY NEW CARD!

My new Intel 4965AGN card info:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4229&SUBSYS_11008086&REV_61\4&2F707902&0&00E3
I hope this was the problem...

In fact i don't need the new card's ID, it's last resource swapping IDs for me, i normally do fine with the original card's PCI ID to remove whitelist checks.

Try this one.

to flash it when WinFlash screen is shown, click on Advanced options. After a while a new pop window opens, with 3 tabs, in the Flag tab just mark "Verify block after programming" and "Disable Axx swapping automatic detection". And in DMI tab choose in the dropdown menu "Update the BIOS and not DMI".

Then click Accept, and then Flash BIOS.

and let me know Smile

This also did not work... The "Verify block after programming" and "Disable Axx swapping automatic detection" were already checked but I had to pick the "Disable Axx swapping automatic detection" option and then I flashed.
I still get the error message.
