Asus h110m-a & xeon e3-1280v5
#1
Hello, I want to make an Asus h110m-a works with xeon e3-1280v5. But I'm doing something wrong.

Bios file downloaded from asus site .cap and can not be opened with FIT

CSME System Tools v11 r46 v11 does not work, after loading fit.exe "unable to parse vsccommn.bin"

I downloaded CSME System Tools v15.0 r15. And FIT does work. Still have the CAP problem.

I would greatly appreciate your response. Thanks you

I converted to rom as you said, still FIT v15 are unable to open rom file. It ask for bin or xml files.
Dragging doesn't work either, an error message appears.
Changing the rom extension to bin doesn't work either.

You need to use FIT 11.x
Drag-and-drop the rom-file to its window.

Thank you very much for the response, I'm quite lost but I have made some progress.

I've been reading something about it, and using the same computer to do the modification, the Fit v11 does work. I was trying from another computer.

Also I changed the cap to bin with another program called "asus bios cap to bin" from here https://novoselovvlad.ru/2020/07/13/asus_bios_cap_to_bin/

I have made the modification from Me -> reserved to Yes

And when I go to record the image I get a warning. "Boot guard disable on platform"

I don't know if it will be important, anyway I don't know how to install this image. Do I necessarily have to use a programmer as I have read in other posts?

I think there might be some way to convert this back to cap, and install it like a normal bios. Or with another program. Now if the system stops working you may need a programmer.

What are you suggesting?

I need results of MEInfo on this system.
BTW: You can't "convert this back to cap". And you need a hardware programmer to flash modded firmware.

I think this is equivalent to Meinfo, loading last bios cap file downloaded from asus, I have used Meanalyzer. I'm going to find out how to use Meinfo anyway.

No. Extract it from CSME System Tools v11

I had to install the Intel Me driver from the optional Windows Update to get MEinfo to work.

Result on h110m-a:
