ASRock Z170 Extreme 7+ SLIC Request
#1
SLIC: https://www.sendspace.com/file/9eg5jz

ROM 1.70: http://66.226.78.22/downloadsite/BIOS/11...70)ROM.zip

Extracted file name: Z17EX7P1.70

Other BIOS downloads: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Extreme7+/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

Motherboard Info: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/Z170%20Extreme7%2B/

SLIC Requested:  Either 2.1 or 2.3 from Asus or Dell

Tried with Phoenixtool 2.59 but no matter what I do, I either get an Error 9 - Index was outside the bounds of the array or unable to add SLIC code.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!   - Kelxin

Update:

I found the Phoenix Tool 2.64 which allowed me to SLIC it, but am unable to test the modified bios due to a secure check on the file.   I looked at the file itself and it doesn't look like its encapsulated and looks a lot like the X99 Extreme 11 Bios that someone hand edited for me before.  Anyone have any advice on how to pass the secure check when the file isn't encapsulated?

Straight backup of bios:  https://www.sendspace.com/file/lbbaiy

Results.rar : https://www.sendspace.com/file/i4jz9n

Desired SLIC Bin file to be integrated:  https://www.sendspace.com/file/srdv8h

I did find a program that is letting me write to the bios, but every time that I have flashed an image, after I reboot it won't fully POST with an error of 4F.

AMI Firmware update tool for AptioV allowed me to read / write the bios directly and has some interesting options that I haven't had a chance to play with.

Newest AMI tool download link:  http://www.ami.com/download-license-agre...tility.zip
When using the Phoenixtool 2.64 "module" and "code" both errored out, but dynamic would say it was successful after warning that it didn't initially find a SLIC table.  Once it modified the bios, I flashed it with the AMI AptioV afuwin tool but wouldn't POST after.

Don't have time to get AIDA right now, so will post that report tomorrow if I haven't heard back.

Ask to Sovem about this Bios as there is no FPT support and It is a SecureFlash Bios !
I think that only way to introduce a Slic is to use Structure to add Modules and then
Hex patch to modify ALASKA !
But It's not rewritable . . .

Thank you BDMaster.

I sent Sovem a PM with a link to this thread and uploaded my AIDA64 report (it actually forced me onto the newest beta to even evaluate my system because it was too new).

Serg from My Digital Life's forums ended up being able to take care of it.

Reupload It please to see how to Flash It ?
I think using AFUWin /G but I didn't tried It !
Then I's only Slic 2.1 not Dell 2.2 or 2.3 , so It's 1st step this one !

To flash just use the dos afuwinx64 bios.rom.  Serg had the /G on the command line but the new afuwinx64 didn't like it and I removed the /g and it worked perfect.

Link to bios created by Serg:  https://www.sendspace.com/file/vbb75w
Keep in mind, he said this was created specifically for my board using a backup of the bios.  I am unsure if this will work on anyone else board at all without bricking.

Edit: Re-uploaded and fixed link.

Update:

I extracted the SLIC files from the bios that Serg made, and re-integrated those by hand into the factory bios instead of a backup of my bios.  Flashed my bios back to a non-slic bios to ensure everything was clean, then re-flashed the bios that I created and have Asus SLIC 2.1 working perfect.

Bios I created:  https://www.sendspace.com/file/air553

Next I will be figuring out how to create those SLIC bin files (69009842-63f2-43db-964b-efad1c39ec85 and 996aa1e0-1e8c-4f36-b519-a170a206fc14) so that I can create them from scratch on my own and integrate SLIC 2.3 into this bios.

Update 2:

Success! Dell SLIC 2.3 on the stock 1.7 ROM : https://www.sendspace.com/file/h88a04
