Acer 5745g (ZR7 Insyde bios) recovery

Hi guys

I was successful in unlocking all advanced featues including uefi boot. It was all working good unti i changed a setting in bios and now laptop wont boot anymore. It tries to boot and all lights come up for a second and it shuts down again in boot loop. I tried recovery for insyde bios but it doesn't boot and shuts again few secs. I tried removing cmos battery but no luck. If i remember i changed some frequency from 1066 to 1333 mhz.

Any ideas how to bring back life.

Hi Compuwengo,

Was this a BIOS you modified or one in our forums? I would recommend removing CMOS battery and laptop battery, holding down power button to discharge the board, and then try to boot without the batteries in and just the AC and see if that lets you access the BIOS.

I was updating my bios version and it failed, now my lappy doesnt respond. I found out many ways to recover BIOS via usbdrive, but that process needs '.fd' and other files but acer hasnt provided any of them, there's just an unextractable .exe file on their site http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers
So guys, what should i do to recover my bios.//??
(also,I have created bios backup from same working laptop using universal bios backup, its in .rom format. can i somehow use it..??? i m attaching that file)

ok here is my problem in a pref i updated my bios using one of the bios files on acer sites for my model i think i used lower virsion of my bios firmware like doin downgrade or somthin so later my laptop wont bost wen i push power button just power lights and nothing on the display i took my bios and reflash it on a toolkit and nothing happened also same problem so i tried to recover my bis using most of the known methods and i keep failing last option poped up on my minde that i need to replave my bios chip with a new one and flash it with a working full firmware if so u guys might be able to help me with the full firmware if it exists thank u for reading this and excuse my shallow English and also excuse me if this is not the right place for the post @ this fourms .

Hi Bro ! I am also searching for the same solution for my Aspire 5745g i7. A wrong bios update from windows and after restart system is dead. I am searching someone who can provide me with .rom bios file to re-flash my bios from the bios programmer kit. so if u get some good news on that do share. thanks

well m8 u dont need a .rom u can just use the .fd after u extract the ziped file on acer website the go to the windows bios folder and extract the the.fd from the exe file there it should be something like ZR7x64EC.fd u must rename the EC to EX.fd the flash it even using thumb drive by fn+Esc method i wish this was my problem but my problem went so far since the guy who used rom burnner kit flashed the wrong bios chip whish i hope u wont do if u used a toolkit try to know which bios shall be flashed and also u can help me after ur dont fixing ur laptop u can easly read the both bios firmware and save them as files then send them to me that will only fix my laptop and i will appreciate that
