Advent 5711 laptop bios help

Hi all!, just joined up to the forum and was hoping for a bit of help,
I have a advent 5711 laptop with a phoenix bios and windows vista, I thought it would be simple to wack windows xp on the laptop but realised it was a pain in the backside lol.
correct me if wrong but because its vista I need to change in the bios the sata hard drive to ide so xp will install but shamefully I cant change those so im stuck with vista.
Ive read phoenix is a pain in the backside to gain access to more options which they have hidden away but I really want rid of vista now as its slow on this laptop, XP has at heart always been my favourite
If anyone could help or give some advice that would be much appreciated!
forgot to say the phoenix bios version is : 1.12U BR and EC version is : 1.09

Hi thedude,

Please post us a link to the BIOS you want us to take a look at. From my understanding though, you shouldn't need to switch to IDE for XP, rather install the SATA drivers for XP once in Windows.
