Alienware m18x-r1 bios request

ok.. is there a way to mod this bios to make it think its the m18x-r2 in sub vendor id only? none of the r2 features only the sub vendor stuff?

i recieved a set of 7970m from dell for my r1 but ati's driver for it wont recognize it oon the r1 but windows does and my current bios does..
on the r2 the ati install software sees the cards right away so we know the drivers work.. but the sub vendor id is different in bios string..
