Asus CM5571-BR003 AHCI option unlock?

Hi, I have a CM5571 Asus which uses a P5QL-M-EPU motherboard. I've upgraded the bios to use the latest CPU codes and indeed it runs fine with a socket 771 XEON X5460 chip + the usual mods. Since it's an OEM MoBo, it already had the SLIC tables that allowed me to jump from OEM Win7 to Win 10 cost-free.
The motherboard is believed to be an OEM variation on the P5QL-VM-EPU. Visually the to boards look nearly identical (heat sinks/component placement etc).
The P5QL-M has an G43 chipset and the ICH10 controller. Unfortunately there is no menu to switch the hard drives into AHCI mode. They are stuck in IDE mode. In IDE mode I can't update the SSD firmware. I suppose it's a minor thing, but AHCI mode would be nice if it's possible.
Using AMIBCP v 3.46, there appears to be no *hidden* AHCI settings menu in the BIOS, however the bios for the P5QL-VM MoBo has those settings and much more. I've wondered if swapping out the 8086:2E22 PCI Option Rom component in the rom for an updated intel pchAHCI.bin file would help but I suspect I'd still be left without a way to select AHCI mode.
Although I'd rather DIY this, adding menu items is currently beyond me (unless someone wants to point out a how-to thread for non UEFI AMI bioses).

So I have an Asus CM5571-BR003 desktop, and Asus decided to lock it to IDE mode. But I've opened up the bios in AMIBCP and the options for AHCI are there, but they don't show up in the regular bios menu. I'm not exactly sure what to do to enable AHCI or have it appear in the menu. The SouthBridge is Intel ICH10R.
Here's the latest Bios for the motherboard straight from Asus.
My board is unmodded except for a Xeon Microcode injection.

I have an SSD that's being bogged down by IDE mode which is why I want to enable AHCI.

Where are you seeing storage control option with IDE/AHCI setting? I don't see anything like that. Show me image, or explain like Chipset >> Here or Advanced >> Here I see AHCI Configuration page, and Storage configuration etc, but nowhere in either of those has the expected IDE/AHCI setting. See image at the bottom, this is what I expected to find, but it's not in your BIOS.
I checked all the option roms with MMTool, and there is no AHCI or RAID Module (Expected no RAID of course), only Intel PXE (Boot from LAN), VGA vBIOS for onboard GFX, and J.Micron for the other disk controller (PATA/IDE)
P43 chipset usually gets ICH10 (No R), but I would expect AHCI out of that! Even the closest official Asus boards mention AHCI in the manual and show the setting I was expecting to unhide for you. Maybe your best bet would be to flash to one of those closest matching your board? If you try that, I would not do it without first having a flash programmer in hand (Hardware flash programmer, like CH341A - $2.50 on ebay)

Which one of those, or other at Asus most closely resembles your motherboard? I can try to switch out the BIOS module that contains the settings, I checked the P5QLEPU BIOS and it does have the settings you need, see image below

Access to two string above is added. Mod is based on bios from Asus site, but it's function working or not, can you tested?

So is it only adding the two options? Was anything else changed? How likely to brick?

Ok, so after added microcodes for my processor and flashing it, I now have AHCI options. Did you add anything else besides the menu options? I switched it to AHCI and tried booting Windows and it blue screened which means that something is working right.

You need to enable AHCI mode in windows registry before you can switch to AHCI, otherwise you get 0x7b BSOD

3. Standart. The risk is estimated by times and the number of internal errors Amibcp, mmtool, hex editor and your actions when flashing.

I know that I would need to change registry variables, I was just seeing if I AHCI mode worked in which it would cause a blue screen on an ide install.
I installed Windows on a separate HDD in IDE mode and then I converted it to AHCI install and now it runs in AHCI mode. which means the mod worked and was successful.

Thanks LLC, I will check it out! I see those are in stock BIOS already, but how do you add in that section, which module do you edit SLAB or SetupClient, and how did you add them in?
I mod BIOS all the time, so you don't have to explain in super detail, but have never done this specific type of addition of a non-exiting setting. I see this AMIBCP3.51 we can cut, no paste I'm used to more modern BIOS, but none you can cut/paste menu items like we all wish we could
