anyway, how do I make changes to bios and save a rom? Do I just edit the string directly in amibcp, then "save as" .fd file, then rename it to k43ta.212 ?
file won't be corrupted that way?

The file should not be corrupted, but if you get any warnings while trying to flash, then it's best to abort the flash.
