Asus M3A78-EM, & M3A78-EMH HDMI HP 2.1 SLIC

Hi Everyone here at Bios Mods.. I Hope everyones Summer Season, has been Good this year..

.I`m hoping someone can help me out..I really want to learn how to do this Bios Modding, for myself.Problem is,I have to learn everything from the Ground up,, Because,,,, at this Point,,, I know NOTHING !! ..LOL.. I do have some old "KaPooters" here, that I don`t mind if things Go Horribly Wrong, while trying to learn how to modify their Bios.I`ll try to learn and teach myself on those Machines..

.I n the meantime,I have an ASUS, M3A78-EMH HDMI ,Motherboard that does only 1 thing very Well,and that is ,,Consistantly CRASH.. I had ran Vista on it,But,I took it out of Service due to it being completely unreliable, after, 1 year of Configuring it, in every imaginable way.Bios settings, all new Hardware,OS reinstalls.Nothing really helped.. Now that Win.#7 is being anticipated. I would like to give this Board another try. Maybe the New OS.will be the Answer for it,and it`ll finally work correctly..Anyways the 1`st board Mentioned was replaced with the M3A78-EM, and it has been a much Better Board with the Vista Ultimate OS.. You`re probably wondering why I didn`t try the XP os, on the First board..It`s because, Both of these Boards are of the Hybrid CrossFireX Flavour,and for that feature to function, Vista Ultimate is Required,if I remember Correctly

..I would really Appreciate if 1 of the Well experienced Folks here, would modify these 2 Bios for me, So that I can run Vista & Win.#7..I`m not certain, Does the Bios`s need to have a Slic 2.0 and a Slic 2.1 added to the File ?.. I know I sound uncertain of what I`m asking for ,cuz,,,,well,, I`m uncertain..LOL. I think the Competent folks here, will know what I need.. ..PS..These are the never opened, and untouched,Latest Bios Files from ASUS. for Both of these MotherBoards..I use the ASUSUpdate software for installing the Bios on Both of these board,due to it being so easy to use.. Thanks again

In Future , Please Post 1 Thread Per Board - Not 2 Boards In 1 !

Bioses cannot have SLIC 2.0 and 2.11 - Its One or the other

Apparantly though , you can use SLIC 2.1 to activate vista , but not SLIC 2.0 to activate windows 7 (So SLIC 2.1 activates both)

Please tell us what SLIC you would like. We dont have Asus 2.1 Currently but we do have HP 2.1 and a few others

I apoligize.I suppose I`m off to a bad start already as a new member .. I`ll not pile boards together in a single thread in the future..Mr.1234s282. if it is Best, please just delete this thread entirely, and I`ll repost the Boards individually,making 2 seperate threads..I actually did use the Search function to try and find the bios for these boards and found and found a disscussion about 2 other versions of the M3A78 Family of M.Boards..A Slic 2.1 for HP would be Great seeing how it will work for Both of those OS`s, and if I need to choose a Bios, for 1 board over the other, a modded Bios for the Asus M3A78-EM please. Though a Modded Bios for both Boards is what I really would like.. Thank you for your patience with me ,and sorry again for posting about 2 boards in the same thread..

These both have HP 2.1 SLIC Like you requested. Just in case your still using Xp , they also have HP SLP 1.0 for Xp Activation too!

Tested, NOT working. I tried another of your BIOSes for another board (also using HP SLIC 2.1) and the other one worked perfect, using the exact same steps/certificate/serial.

Hi pftr34.Would you mind posting, or Maybe PM, the components(steps/certificate/serial) that you used,,to me?.I`m not sure if that Sort of info is allowed to be posted here,or not.Is it possible that you made a "slip-up" while doing the install.? I really do have High hopes, for these Bios`s and I know there was some interesting info that Came to light today..Were you able to roll your Factory un-modded Bios, Back?

I remodded the bios that didnt work , but was left in the dark about what wasnt working , was it the slic mod itself or the bios didnt flash or flashed incorrectly?

Also make sure that you rename the file to its original filename before the flash

Same guy, forgot my password and had to re-register (pwd reset thing didn't work, it wouldn't accept the pwd sent by email)

As for the details of what I used, there's absolutely nothing special about it. Same exact cert and key that works just fine with other computers with a HP SLIC 2.1. There were no problems importing the cert, and the key was copy/pasted so no typos, and I've tried more than once. It's not exactly the first time I'm doing this either, so it's not a problem with the steps I've used.

There was no problem going back to the original BIOS.

The issue is with the SLIC mod itself. RW everything doesn't see the SLIC table (no SLIC tab at the top) and seemingly the OS doesn't either. It might have to do with how the old SLIC 2.0 that was in the original BIOS got replaced. I've tried to do it myself using slictool128 and it didn't work either.

I'll try this new BIOS in a couple minutes! Thanks 1234s282!

Edit: Still no go :( Still no SLIC tab showing up in RW everything. If there's anything I can do to make this easier, just let me know (data dumps, screenshots, remote desktop/vnc access, whatever you need)
