Asus P9X79 Deluxe RAID Option ROM Request
#1
Hey,

I'm wondering if anyone can mod the latest BIOS from ASUS to replace the OROM with the latest I can find on the web?

The current BIOS for my board is 1203, and the most current RAID OROM I can find is 3.1.0.2101. ASUS releases 3.0.1xxx with this BIOS update. I am experiencing some very slow 4K Random Reads, which is causing slow loading etc. I am just curious if a new OROM will improve that. I'm running 2x Samsung 830 128GB SSD's in a RAID0. If you think the risk of flashing a modded BIOS won't be worth it, please let me know. Below are the links to all the files one should need:

RW Everything Report: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2c8o0te2ihz4dbc

Current BIOS and newest OROM: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0y9y4bpbg4l42pa

If I left anything out, please let me know and I will provide a link immediately.\
Thanks for any help.

Maybe someone could point me to a tool to do this and I can stumble around with Google to figure it out. So far the only tool I know which is modern (updated within the last 6 months) is the Phoenix BIOS Mod Tool. But that is centered around changing SLICs. It has advanced options, but they're confusing. And I can't seem to find good documentation for them. I ran across a post on a forum where someone modded an ASUS Maximus IV BIOS with a new RAID OROM (and other Marvell), so it can be done. That BIOS is similar to mine.

Well, any help will be appreciated.
