If the RAID is the problem, why are we promoting it with an upgrade on unsupported hardware?

TheWiz

how is it unsupported hardware though? it wouldnt be in OEM BIOS if it wasnt supported would it

im just thinkin its not a good idea becasue what else relies on the RAID thing in the bios and what will be effected if its removed al of the hdd stuff is defitnatly a possibility

Heres the one with RAID v10.0.0.34 , Still has SLIC aswell

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/747181/T3410MOD_SLICnewraid.BIN

Try at your own risk , i wont be held responsible if it breaks Tongue - your the one who decides whether to flash it or not!!

Kind Regards

Interestingly i havwe a more up to date version of the RAID rom available to use. The modded bios from TheWiz used Mediashield v6.33. I have an image of Mediashield v10.0.0.34 that i extracted out of a more modern bios.

Therefore , you have 2 choices. Would you like me to try a mod using the more up to date RAID , or remove the RAID rom completely?

Regards
Admin

Thanks for your reply, I don't need the RAID rom, and I don't think marcusj does either. So whatever is clever, if you can remove the RAID rom completely that might fix the issue not being able to access the BIOS due to the ROM hang. If I ever do RAID with this board it will be with a PCI-E add-in card when SATA3 comes out next year

I really don't know much about the BIOS modding process, but I do know that I'd like to be able to adjust voltages, timings, spds, frequencies, and have the SLIC 2.1 .

*edit* I assume removing the RAID capabilities will not affect usage of the SATA and PATA controllers for single drive configurations

if taking out the RAID dosent affect SATA Or more importantly for me anyway PATA isnt affected then by all means take that bad [censored] outta there

i gotta go back up to job corps tommorrow so id really appreciate if this would hurry up

thank you for your time and your hard work The Wiz and Admin

I can confirm the link works in IE8 - sometimes it doesnt work straight after uploading

Checksum error is because ive modified it - it doesnt have the same checksum as the original

Heres the one with SLIC but RAID removed completely

not to be hostike, BUT YOU NEVER USE WINFLASH TO FLASH A BIOS! ONLY TO BACKUP.

Grab AWDFLASH and throw it on the USB to flash.

Thanks,
TheWiz
