Qualcuno si interessa ancora a questo portatile?
Io lo uso ancora e vorrei sapere se con il bios modificato, che ho già messo, è possibile montare un q9100?
Non sono riuscito ad aggiornare il bios della gt130m!
HELP

Hi there I'm here to explain some things on this notebook:

-No a quad core cpu can't be used on this notebook, because the pins setting of quad core cpu's aren't implemented on the motherboard to HARDWARE level.
(i say this because i've tried with 2 q9100 (one normal and one with pin mods of sony vaio) and a modified bios with fresh microcodes of the quad core cpu's (if you search this bios mod there's something on the net with v.e.r. 2.0.9 bios) if you try this the only result is black screen)

-No the acer 5935g can't be overclocked with normal bioses, you must install a modified bioses or modify by yourself, in any case this metod have only cons! any pros.
Cause the instability of the overclock

To get a fully upgraded acer aspire 5935g:

CPU
Buy the intel p9700 2.80 ghz 28w (3 watt superior than standard (25w) t6800 or p8600-8700)
(yes the t9900 have 3.0.6 ghz but have 35w, the thermal design of the heat sink can't support this wattage)
And yes i've tried this, so i can say that.

GPU
AMD m4000 or 7770m 1GB GDDR5 (WITH VBIOS OR DOESN'T WORK, IF U BUY WITHOUT U MUST DO A MODIFIED BIOS WITH VBIOS OF THE GPU)
Same...tried with a lot of gpu's...so trust me, i've spent a lot of money for these things.
To mount these gpu's use the x-bracelet of the gt130m so you don't have any kind of problems to mount this piece.

Cpu Fan: for this mod i've used a cpu fan of acer aspire model :aj83 ( the base of this fan and the blades of the original) for a little power up on ventilation.

For more ventilation i suggest some more: an attachment to the exit of the hot air with some gadget like a cpu fan coolers.
(i need to buy because in summer the notebook dies with some heavy games)

Ram: Can be supported 8gb any tipe no problem, i don't tried more, for me 8gb are good. so i don't know if support more.
hdd: you can put what you desire: hdd, sshd, ssd

Hi,

I know is a old topic but i want to upgrade my aspire 5935g too (is an old machine but i need a laptop for lan gaming and media center, nothing special).

I want to ask, there is a tutorial for flash the unlocked bios? and, you say that the laptop works with 8 gb of ram (the crucial site say max 4gb), i want to know, what type of ram? 1066 or even 1333?

thanks for your patience.

Hi Bizzo sorry for late reply but i check sometimes this post, for your questions i don't remember what kind frequency I've putted in for the ram, but in any case if you put a 1333 ram, if not supported it will drop down to 1066
So...doesn't matter, just put in a pair of same ram and it's ok.
For the bios flash (i don't remember wery well in case check on google how to do) you must download the modified bios and with rufus or similar programs prepare a USB key to flash, than run the notebook with USB to boot first and upgrade the bios (be careful if something goes wrong with it you ruin it)

Yeah at the end i got no problem to install the custom bios and the 8gb of RAM (4x2 1066) works with no problems.

But i never got it work the amd firepro4000 gpu (is from a Dell and it have the ROM chip). Windows see it (can't use it because of the integrated gpu) but when choose discrete graphic in bios the screen will be always white so i just keep my Nvidia 130M.
