GA-8I865GME-775 (rev. 1.x)
#1

I work in a group for old computers revamp to donate to public schools and poor kids in Brazil.
We do what we can, using parts of many computer in order to built a few good enough computers.

It would be posible to add "Cor 2 Duo" or "Pentium Dual-Core" support to the GIGABYTE GA-8I865GME-775 (rev. 1.x) board ?

It seems further releases of GA-8I865GME-775 do have support for these CPUs.

BIOS in GIGABYTE site:

Post a screenshot of third (Mainboard) tab of CPU-Z.
Have you suitable hardware programmer to read/write BIOS chip?

See attached the CPU-Z print screen.
I have one PENTIUM D E5400 and a CORE 2 DUO E7500. To use any one would be fine.

Unfortunatelly, I don't have a hardware programmer to read/write BIOS chip.
The BIOS has the Q-FLASH utility, but it try to read a FLOPPY !!!

The motherboard is a GA-8I865GME-775 and at the corner of the board is printed "REV.1.1".

Thank you in advance.

This revision of motherboard hasn't support for Conroe CPUs.
It's not BIOS problem, but VRM.
