on the verge of completing my hackintosh with the final task being the addition of the dell vostro 1510 wifi card for N speeds. It's no shocker HP being all "almighty" blacklisted the card because they want us the great consumers to buy their "apple priced" products instead of having other options. (I'm aware that you'll be switching the ID's basically as i've read in the other threads like this one)

Well to end all my ranting before i make pages out of it I'm current in need of the l33t help of this bios modders here to get my wifi card working.

The original is the atheros ar 5007 with the ID's :

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_137A103C&REV_01

And the replacement Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter

seriously...

and all went well the card is now being recognized in os x as an airport card and i'm happy to report that i'm posting using it right now.

only downside is that this being an hp laptop, the card won't work on the windows side... I wonder if i'll ever get it to work because the dell drivers don't install but i have a usb adapter that works in vista so I guess that will have to suffice \=

oh and btw the wireless light on my laptop turned a magneta pink... this is a first lol

I think thats got something to do with changing the hex strings to support the new card. It was in there twice. One must have been whitelist , one must have been wifi light switch

lol nah it's cool I just installed the dell drivers a while ago in vista and i'm posting from it now saying i have wifi working on both sides. Man 4:53am my life just got a whole lot sweeter thanks to the awesome help 1234s282

i actually like the pink lol it's a cute look for the wifi button =D

btw i'm curious as to knowing why you chose the user id 1234s282...
