HP Netbook - It's been done before....
#1
Wink
Hi folks!

I've got a HP Mini Netbook that I love (110-3000) and I paid camiloml to create a WLAN whitelisted BIOS for me a few years ago (sp51731.exe). I had to mess with it quite a bit to get the BIOS to flash but when I got it - it was good! I fixed up the file and put it on my web server but it crashed some time back and I lost it Sad

Recently I upgraded the mainboard in the netbook. The new mainboard uses the exact same BIOS update file (sp51731.exe). If I flash the stock HP one, it works. If I flash camiloml's modded BIOS from the archives it states that's it not the correct one for my model!

The BIOS reports the same model number 110-3000 with the new mainboard as it did with the old one.

This mainboard has both WLAN & WWAN slots. Can anyone 'fix' the BIOS for me (again) so that both are unlocked?

HP Mini 110-3000

BIOS Type: Insyde
BIOS Version: F.15 Revision F (latest)
BIOS Date: 2011-01-24
BIOS Filename: sp51731.exe
BIOS Location: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51731.exe

I really need this netbook working as I use it to tune my motorcycle - and it needs tuning! Smile

That's the same one I have now - someone from another thread helped with it but it's not complete. It won't flash on an x64 O/S without doing some voodoo and it does not enable the WWAN slot.

Strange, I recall paying (and conversing with) camiloml on it. Oh well, no matter.

The issue with the BIOS are these;

1) It will not install in Windows on an x64 system
2) The WWAN slot still does not work. (I have an OE HP WWAN card and it is not recognized)

There was an updated BIOS that someone else began working on for me. This one was better yet as it exposed a bunch of BIOS options. It can be found here;

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-H...Pay?page=2

but the installer still will not work on a Windows x64 system and the WWAN slot does not recognize any cards.

Hi friend,
I found on some HP laptops that It's not active 2nd PCIe Slot and so It is not usable !
I made many experiments but out of luck so renuced Sad !
I am very sorry but cannot mke more . . .

P.S. I studied Camiloml and TTAV134 modifies to learn all and I use much of that
but Camiloml didn't make SLIC and TTAV134 leaved scene as quick as Camiloml !
Now the Best one is Donovan6000 so only He can do the miracle !

No worries - I understand and you did make progress on exposing all the BIOS options - so the BIOS is better then it was!

In this particular case the netbook's WWAN slot was designed to be active. I am 100% certain it's a BIOS issue (as opposed to a hardware limitation). Many of the factory options for this mainboard used the WWAN slot so it is possible to activate it. Maybe Donovan6000 knows how?

I just got done doing a ground-up O/S re-install and I have some new information that may help shed some light on the situation. Perhaps for future HP Mini 110 users?

Any card will run in slot 1 - this is the one that Camiloml unlocked so that part works well.
ONLY the OE HP WWAN card will work in Slot 2 - so Slot 2 is active and functional but appears to still be locked.

I just wanted to clear that up as I think before I incorrectly stated the issue  or maybe made it more confusing Undecided

Hi, sorry for bringing back an old matter but I have this very same computer (110-3000) and will like to upgrade the Wi-Fi card for my 10 years old son and I am getting the same error 104. I just upgrade the Bios with marvin-miller's link but when I try this link http://rghost.net/6H6nCmFQ6 the file is restricted. I created a log-in but is not working. Can some one help me please, Thanks in advance.
