And I think it's senseless.

Hi, may I know why you think is sensless? If it fit inside my Laptop case it maybe an upgrade even to GPU side, I have actually a Nvidia 9200 GS with 512MB of dedicated memory, that one have an ATI 4650 with 1GB. So I may upgrade more easly CPU and VGA in a single time if it work, I find it more easy instead made modding on my actual one and for 30€ I think is not a big deal. If dont work, well I just keep it as spare part. I saw also the same model of board is inside a DV7-1080el so dont only series 2XXX have it, guess then have about same bios, as far as you know there is a modded verison around here? Thanks a lot.

Hello there, I finally got the MB, truly a cople weeks ago, but I don't have so much time in this period for testing it, I need my laptop this months cause I working with it, and making lessons, I will test maybe in a month. I follow the advice for the model that DeathBringer give in another post, and got the 516294-001 that should support quad core, I already have DDR2 here so is not a big deal, maybe in future I will buy the i7 model with same layout with DDR3 support. Looking at this MB PCB I notice that have more component welded there if compared to mine especially in space around CPU. The sad thing comes from battery connector, is identical but is positioned 0,5cm ahead of mine, that means I need to modify in someway the case for let battery connect to it, not big deal but that meas need to do extra work. The Bios of MB should be same, with some luck I may use the modded one that I use in mine. I will let you know if everything work fine after I will install it Smile.

Hi, as I promised I post the results of my modification at DV6, I finally finded time to disassemble it and tryed the spare parts that I ordered. QX9300 work flawless with the new DV7 motherboard, it is recognized and turned on at first attempt and it fit in the case as I supposed, the only thing is the Battery connector that is positioned bit ahead, and must be performed some modification at plastic case, I still didnt do that anyway cause first need to solve the heat problem; CPU in IDLE status is about 38-40° C, but under heavy load reach also 90+, and same thing and even worst for VGA, that reached about 100° C, I guess that heatsink of DV6 is not adeguate for the thermal request of these new components. I just have order the one of DV7 (Quad Core version) and I will see what happen I will updated you. Another good news is that MODDED Firmware for my old DV6 that I got here work as well in this board, the board still have F24 so I can update at modded F46 one. Hope that the new heatsink will do the job and I will finish the updates at this amazing laptop.
PS. I tryed to install F26 Modded Bios and work flawless, now I have all advanced option there and whitelist removed. Also AMD Mobility driver seems to fix High temp GPU issue, now is fixed at 45°. I put on also ThrottleStop and undervolt CPU at 1.050V, it pass also stability test, and temp do not exceed 75°, but anyway PC is still open... I wait the new heatsink for full test and to close it.
PS2. Another problem that I found but I guess I can solve it is the switch of touchpad, are shifted in another position in layout of this motherboard but there are too the empty position for my layout, so I need to weld it in correct position as you can see in this pic.
