Help! Urgent! Can't get to Phoenix BIOS Recovery
#1
I have done some changes to my laptop's BIOS. After restarting, it won't POST & the screen is just black. I already removed the CMOS battery but there weren't any changes except for when I turn on the laptop it now turns off automatically after 1 sec. and then after 5 secs. it turns on again but still nothing on the screen.

I tried the Phoenix Crisis Recovery method but it just doesn't work on me. I tried every key combinations (FN/Win + R/F/B/K/ESC) but nothing happens.

After researching for a while, I found my laptop's schematic online and then this shocked me:

It says that the BIOS Recovery is disabled by default. So, what I need from you guys is to tell me what to do to set it to "Low=Enable". Should I just remove the resistor labeled R247 to enable the BIOS Recovery? BIOS_REC is equal to GPIO22

Please help me!

Did you use the crisis recovery disk? Or did you use a freedos disk?

I'm not sure your bios recovery method from the scheme.
but I guess that is for just bios reset as a hardwared jumper, not as bios recovery as you thought.
some machines has removed general phonex bios recovery from the bios like as sony vaio, or asrock as I knew, or somes has changed the key combination for the recovery, as FN/Win + END or something other else.
in worst case as you know, you should replace correct bios chip with heating and solder gun or new motherboard with $$$.

I tried using the phoenix crisis recovery disk method, but it doesn't work. So I did a little research with the laptop's schematics and found out that BIOS recvoery is disabled in hardware.

I'm trying to enable the bios recovery through hardware. Enabling the bios reset through hardware jumper is done by shorting SRTC_RST# pin to Ground which is connected directly to the intel chipset.

Don't worry, I opted to buid a Serial Peripheral Interface Programmer to repair my bios chip. So everything is working now. Thanks for your effort to help me at least.

Nope, I've read the schematics and this is definitely for the BIOS recovery. For the BIOS reset you need to connect the chipset's SRTC_RST# pin to Ground by shorting the jumper pads on the PCB.
