I can do that , but the laptop doesn't boot ATM with an error "No operating system found". I will swap the cpu back on the original and try to post what you asked the specifications are available here https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/suppo...ifications I've read elsewhere that this specific chipset (HM70) will randombly reboot ? Even if i make it work ? (01-21-2019, 01:31 PM)DeathBringer Wrote:(01-21-2019, 01:20 PM)Spyros Wrote: Sony sve1712p1e has HM70 and i5 3210mYou are wrong. Hello , and happy new year to everyone!
This Sony Vaio originally came with a Intel B980 and now I have purchased a Intel I7 3632QM as an upgrade. Once I install the new CPU The bios settings cannot be changed anymore, and it won't boot from usb stick, nor hdd. Does any of you have any idea how I can fix this (modded bios, bios unlock)? Is it even possible to use this cpu on this motherboard or should I send it back? Thanks in advance for your time!

Your notebook has HM70 chipset.
Chipset HM70 supports only Celeron & Pentium. It has well known problem and can't run i3/i5/i7 more then 30 minutes. |
