How to update sp48953 for HP laptop with Insyde?
#1
Hi,

Please forgive me for my newbie questions Sad

I downloaded the sp48953_AHCI_VT_MoreOptions_ByCamiloml files and I ran the program InsydeFlash.exe in Win7 x64. It updated my bios from F1A to F1C using the InsydeFlash program without being asked to select a file to load. I saw some additional features (raid and ahci) and was able to boot back into Win7 without any problems.

I noticed these two bin files in the directory: #1 - 363CF1C.bin (2560 kb) and # 2 - 3658F1C.bin (4608 kb).

Was file #1 flashed by the InsydeFlash program? Do I now flash file #2? If yes, do I use FWUpdLcl.exe in a DOS environment to flash file #2.

Does file #2 have more options than file #1 and this is why #2 is larger than #2?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

The first file was probably for the EC chip and the second one was for the main BIOS itself. And I would guess that they both got updated at once. No point to update EC without updating the main BIOS.
