Intel Xeon E3 1270 V5 for LGA 1151 (ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO Z270)
#1
Hello, I'm looking to see if it's possible to create a custom bios for an Asus Maximus IX Hero Z270. I've tried finding specific guides but everything I found was in Russian and I'm pretty sure the translation software wasn't getting stuff correct. I need help figuring out what to do, I have a flash drive, I bought the CH341A reprogrammer that was recommended, but I'd like to see if its possible to use the built in EZ Flash first.
Here is the link to the motherboard page: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-ma...ero-model/
Thanks in advance.

Download CSME System Tools v11 and unpack it.
Run \Flash Image Tool\WIN32\fit.exe
Drug and drop full BIOS dump into Flash Image Tool's window.
Go to Intel® ME Kernel->Reserved
Change a value of Reserved parameter to Yes.
Press Ctrl+B to build modded firmware. Then choose Yes
The file with name outimage.bin is modded firmware.
BTW: you need to use a hardware programmer for reading/writing BIOS firmware.

So in order to flash it I have to use the CH341A reprogrammer? Is there a specific app I need to use to use with it and are there any guides on how to? Sorry I'm a noob at this, thanks for your help

Couple more questions, so to get the "dumped" bios do I need to use the ch341a to get it straight off the motherboard, then to drag it into the CSME app? And would I need to have a supported CPU to do any of this? I only have the xeon and the motherboard on hand. Thanks.
