Keyboard layout mod on Asus F3Sv
#1
Hi guys. I'll try and explain what i need the best way i can. If i'm posting on the wrong place, please apologise.

I've got an Asus F3Sv which has a "standard" laptop keyboard, and recently i got a motherboard from an M51Sn. Both the Motherboards are exactly the same, besides the graphics card (main reason for switching). The M51Sn has a full featured keyboard (numeric keypad on the side). Basically what i would like from the wizards, is a way of having a modded M51Sn BIOS with the portion regarding the keyboard information taken from the F3Sv BIOS. The laptop works flawlessly, except for the keyboard... Practically 0 keys work.

Is this possible? could you do it for me, of perhaps give me some pointers?

Thanks a million for your time
Toni

Not the best way to upgrade video and if I'm right about 8600 and 9500 - they have a minimal difference.

Do you have a good photo of the two boards or at least one is they are identical?

Hi Antinomy. Thanks for your time.

The boards are 100% the same (same P/N, same Revision). Forgot to mention i'm writting from a computer shop. I'm confident when it comes to computer repairs, and even a lot of motherboard repairs on laptops. When it comes to "editting" BIOS, i'm a little afraid, since i've never fiddled with that area. About your comment.... I'f where comparing 8600M GT 256MB with the 9500M GS 512MB, then yes they're basically the same. When it comes to compare 8600M GS with the 9500M GS, the difference is quite large. This being one of my personal laptops and i do a lot of streaming to my xbox and ps3, this will be a payed off effort.

Once again... thanks a lot for your attention.
Toni
