I am attempting to upgrade the CPU of a friends machine from a Celeron b820 to an i5-3210
The chip set supports this (hm76) but I do not think the bios version (62cn34ww) supports 4 threads.
The machine is running w10 and therefore there is no info on the lenovo site on an upgrade path.
I have read elsewhere that the bios on this model of the g580 can have the bios upgraded to achieve what I want but can find no info on which version and whether it can be done on a w10 machine or whether I need to downgrade to w7 or god forbid 8 - very reluctant as its a friends machine; and for the same reason want to be sure before "experimenting"

Can anyone advise on options ?
