Hey Ace,

Sorry, I had a "fall" outside and I was really tired so I called it a night early. I am doing the mod now. Also, thanks for the donation/SEO, I REALLY appreciate when people do this. Also, just checking, do you have a spare chip/backup. It most likely wont brick anything, but I always advise people do If you wanna talk Im on my msn:

How did you solve the problem of the 3k shortage?

Ok so ive been doing some reading like you asked and ive discovered the problem is possibly mainly to do with dual power plane.

http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=52&p=177548

But apparently certain cpu are supported that have it and they work with mobos that dont have it so there must be a facility to force single power plane compliance by modifying a register.

Also here are some other sites i came across that looked interesting.

http://forums.amd.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=319&threadid=119976

http://forums.ocworkbench.com/showthread.php?t=72462&page=2

http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=137458&p=178760#p178760

http://www.wimsbios.com/forum/topic11215.html

http://forums.ocworkbench.com/showthread.php?t=72462&page=2 <---- this site talks about the microcodes is 1022 the C3 X4 AM3's? Also what is the relationship with the "patch id"? One shows 01000065 another shows 01000095

Also there is possibility of replacing the bios with a larger chip SST49LF020-33-4C-NH or perhaps removing awdflash to make the larger AGESA tables fit.

Now ive looked up and tried to find other AM2+ bios'es with AM3 support and found sod all that seem suitable but i do have a few items for your general disection consideration.

One is a bios that was made for an M2N32-Sli Deluxe by taking the AGESA table from the latest asus AM2+ AM3 compatable crossfire board and using CBROM to create

M2N32-SLi-Premium-1303-1.bin http://www.sendspace.com/file/c1zka0

This bios looks promising except its 1024kb and the AGESACPU.ROM is 11.21K not 9.92K. How big was the one that didnt fit by 3k?

Another few are biostar roms that are claimed to offer AM3 support to AM2+ boards, these however wont open with CBROM nor are they all the correct size. All are believed to be AMI bios but i cant confirm.

N56BA218.BST http://www.sendspace.com/file/8tizx9 512kb
78DDA928.BST http://www.sendspace.com/file/u2v2y2 1024kb
78DDA525.BST http://www.sendspace.com/file/5sm317 1024kb

Over to you WizKid.

Just remember this is in the wrong section and the motherboard I have is the M2N-Sli Deluxe NOT the M2NPV-VM you sounded unsure last night lol.

I've opened up a M2N-Sli Deluxe request section if you want to move all mine and your posts from this forum to there to lessen confusion.

Have you looked at the AGESA table from the M2N32-SLi-Premium-1303-1.bin yet? As it has what you need possibly and is 11k

http://www.sendspace.com/file/c1zka0

Also I was just chatting to a friend on guru3d and he asks why cant we use the spare 512k backup duplicate rom? As it is a dual bios board possibly we can reclaim the full 1024k somehow?

+ i just found this rom on a modded roms site http://www.mediafire.com/?dmdy0mi3imh have a look at that too.

I had something come up and will have to wait to post it tommorow. I have a deadline on something *very important, but I did a little work on it today and it should fit. Im also thinking dropping the EPA will provide enough room for the microcode.

Yeah a few people on the guru3d forum seem to think the asus music alarm can be removed too and they would not miss it. I tend to agree. Would removing the epa logo have side effects when it tries to display at boot?

Soooo WizKid, how confident are you about this next rom ?

What exactly are the changes? Which donor roms? Which AGESA version?
