MS-7012 (Medion OEM) v1.11
#1
Hi!
At first please excuse my english I'm not a native speaker.
I have been looking all day over the internet and couldnt find a solution for my problem:
The BIOS for the board MS-7012 from MSI (Medion OEM) does not support the change of the multiplicator, but i would need it in order to run my P4 3,4GHz on more then 2,8GHz.
I attached the BIOS File with this post.
I hope you can help and want to thank you in advance!

Sorry , But the multiplier is only editable if your CPU is Intel Extreme Edition or AMD Black Edition. Otherwise the multiplier is harward locked

Thanks! Sorry for the wrong sub-forum!

Yeah I know...it should be locked to 17. 17 times 200 FSB is 3,4GHz.
But it cant go over 15 because of the BIOS. It would be possible to have 3,4GHz if there would be an unlocked BIOS version...wouldn't it? My research showed that.
Thanks in advance again!

Theres nothning we can do to edit the multiplier. However , theres a chance that speedstepping is enabled on your chip , which automatically lowers the multiplier when not needed to save power.

Try using CPU-Z to monitor your multiplier and chip speed before and after launching a cpu intensive applciation
