Hello, I would like to unlock my American MegaTrend bios in order to install more RAM.
I opened the tower and googled for the motherboard, I found out that if you buy the motherboard alone, not from ACER, it should be able to support up to 8GB of Ram. Currently it has 4GB tried putting in more but system does recognize more then 4gb wich is probably locked in the bios. So I was wondering if there was a way around that, and would like to know why ACER would lock the motherboard to 4gb when it can support up to 8. And what are the risks of me frying the motherboard by adding more memory, Thanks in advance guys !!!
Current Bios : R01-B2
