At first you need to boot in native DOS with new CPU installed.

HI,
I am not familiar with microcode-mods etc., so please be gracious ...
I am also using a dc7900, "newest" BIOS 786G1/v01.27 (10/22/15), ME-Firmware 5.0.1.1111 (whatever this means - I don´t know), Microcode 0xA0E (as CPU-Z says - I don´t know whether this is the latest version from HP as linked in the first post). I have changend the old CPU to Q9300 and later to Q9400. The BIOS/PC accepted w/o error-message. Win10 LTSC IoT is running (due to missing SSE4.2). For some months the system was running, but with the strange effect that after some hours and using the browser the display disappeared. Later sooner or later a BSOD with error-messages which lead to the video-system/-driver (integrated Q45/GM4500) appeared. The same sympton with Win11/23H2, so it is not a matter of the Win-installation. Maybe this is a Firmware-/microcode-issue?
Now my question: Can and/or should I update the firmware with your mod (I assume it is a firmware-update) although I am using a Q9400 and there is no microcode-error-message?

So It's not microcode issue.

Thanks. But what have you learned from the screenshot?
I would like to know whether I should install the HP´s microcode-update (I don´t knwo whether the microcode is already updated) or your mod.

Current BIOS already has suitable microcode (version 0xA0E).

This is no surprise, this is what I have already mentioned in my request, because this was reportet by CPU-Z.
But does this mean, that the HP-microcode-update (version 1.01) as linked in the first post is already installed?
And does this mean, that your mod does not bring any furhter improvement?
