Okay i hope this makes sense ive been tryin to update my laptop sony vaio vgn-nr22oe here are the specs
BIOS Type: Phoenix
BIOS Date: October 23rd 2007

BIOS OEM: R1101J9
Chipset: Intel 2A00 rev 12
SuperIO: Unknown

i want to update it bought 2 sticks of 2gb but only regonizes 2 gb i have read people have gotten it to work with 3 gb so any help would be fine i cant find any bios on this at all

you can get bios backup from winplash, not universal backup tool.

okay i guess it flashed something and i used the one that it says vgn-nr22oe and my bios seems the same? what could of happend i clicked on bios backup and flash the bios same time any help bro? thankx

sorry i edit my message ive manage to get the usb to work but the problem is i use the esc button to load the usb and it comes up in RED letters like alot of commands i dont know if im using the same bios for this but can anybody help me

the bios is same as yours. it has just added slic information only.
after flash it, it might be same as before.

you would better to ask mods administrator with that bios for memory limitation in unlock request forum.

before do it, you need to make sure both of 2 slot memory working fine.
sometimes one of memory slot, doesn't work.
and double check memory type pc2-4200, 5300, 6400, or faulty memory something.
